Monarch Casino Resort Spa’s luxury $400 million expansion celebrates its second birthday this Saturday, November 19th!

It’s hard to believe that it’s almost been two years since Monarch Casino Resort Spa opened its luxury $400 million expansion! Take a look below at Monarch Casino Resort Spa's journey to becoming Colorado’s premiere gaming resort destination by the numbers.
The first number is 2016. That’s the year in which Monarch’s old parking garage was imploded to make room for the 23-story tall tower which is home to 516 mountain-modern hotel rooms and suites, and its world-class Spa Monarch.
The next number is $400 million. That’s how much Monarch spent to expand its guest offerings to include 5 elevated dining options including:
- The award-winning flagship restaurant, Monarch Chophouse
- Modern Mexican-Latin restaurant, Bistro Mariposa
- Award-winning Monarch Buffet
- Contemporary Asian and American classics at Twenty-Four 7
- Home-baked grab-and-go breakfast and Starbucks coffee shop Java Etc.
Part of that price tag is the next number, 60,000 square feet. That's how much gaming space Monarch has available, nearly doubling the size of its previous gaming floor and establishing one of the largest in Black Hawk! That space houses 40 table games featuring red-hot no-limit action and over 1,000 electronic gaming machines, many of which are the newest games in Colorado.
14 is the next number, that’s how many tables offer no-limit poker in Monarch’s Poker room, Black Hawk’s finest place to play.
All of this adds up to a significant $304 million, the amount of money Monarch has reinvested in a total of 365 Colorado companies since its acquisition of the property in 2013.
Last and certainly not least is 900, the number of valued Team Members Monarch employs.
