Monarch Casino Resort Spa Guests Provide More Than 100,000 Nutritious Meals for Fellow Coloradans

To celebrate the tenth year of donating to area food banks, Monarch executives volunteer at Food Bank of the Rockies

Members of the Monarch Casino Resort Spa’s leadership team are volunteering to prepare nutritious food boxes for Colorado families facing food insecurity.

The team at Monarch understands that typically, in January and February of each year, after the year-end season of giving, food banks often see a decline in volunteers and donations.

Since 2014, Monarch Casino Resort Spa guests have donated their spare change from slot machine winnings to multiple charities, including Food Bank of the Rockies, which serves the Gilpin County area. Over that time, Monarch guests have helped provide more than 100,000 nutritious meals for Colorado families.

After playing slot machines at Monarch Casino, you can cash out your proceeds at one of the Everi digital kiosks, round down your winnings to the nearest dollar, and donate the difference (99 cents or less!) to one of four non-profit organizations.

Guests can choose between Food Bank of the Rockies, the American Cancer Society of Colorado, The National Western Stock Show, or the Navy SEAL Foundation.

“It is wonderful to see our guests support their neighbors in need. By donating our time and talents to nonprofit organizations, we can positively impact our communities,” said Monarch Casino Resort Spa Director of Marketing Erica Ferris.

Regardless of income, if you or someone you know in Gilpin County is facing hunger, food is available at The Gilpin County Food Pantry, open each Thursday from 1:30-3:45 pm.

You can find a food pantry near you in other areas by visiting Food Bank of the Rockies.
