Monarch Casino Resort Spa eliminates more than 45,000 plastic water bottles per year

Monarch Casino Resort Spa is proud to continue its industry-leading sustainability efforts with the installation of state-of-the-art Vivreau water systems through the property. Vivreau will use on-site water to produce great tasting still or carbonated water for Monarch’s guests, eliminating nearly all single-use plastics.

“Operating in a state as beautiful as Colorado constantly reminds us of our responsibility to the environment and the Vivreau water system will help us directly eliminate more than 45,000 single-use plastic water bottles per year and elevate our already great-tasting water to a product far superior to bottled water,” said F&B Director Kris Thottekat.

Using local on-site water will also reduce the carbon footprint in bottled water transportation. Less refrigeration energy will be used to keep the water cold. 

The new water system is the latest in a long-standing commitment of Monarch Casino Resort Spa to keep its property environmentally friendly including:

• 12 Tesla charging stations and 2 universal car charging stations 
• Energy-efficient plumbing fixtures and hot water heaters 
• Motion sensor LED lighting systems in rooms 
• Paperless check-in and out of the hotel 
• Straws by “request only” with a full transition to paper straws in the near future
• Recycling all cardboard and shredded paper
