Leadership Team
Jeanie Magdefrau joined Monarch Casino Resort Spa as the General Manager in February 2024. With a rich history of leadership roles across prominent casino operators in Omaha, Nebraska; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Lawrenceburg, Indiana; and Laughlin and Lake Tahoe, Nevada, Jeanie brings extensive industry experience. She was drawn to Monarch by the natural beauty of Black Hawk, Colorado, and the property’s reputation. Jeanie believes Monarch Casino Resort Spa is one of the premier luxury getaways in the Rocky Mountain region, offering amenities that rival much more expensive ones. She is dedicated to driving success and innovation at Monarch, ensuring a top-notch experience for all patrons.
Erica Ferris is the Director of Casino Marketing at Monarch Casino Resort Spa. Her career at Monarch started in September 2001 as Marketing Manager, and she was promoted to Marketing Director in 2015. Her career in the casino industry began in 2001, and she quickly advanced due to her passion and talent. Erica plays a crucial role in enhancing guest experiences and spearheading innovative marketing strategies. She is particularly enthusiastic about promoting Monarch as a luxurious staycation destination, appealing to local guests seeking a memorable mountain escape.
Harbandna Singh, the Director of Human Resources, joined Monarch Casino Resort Spa in March 2023. Born and raised in Canada with roots in northern India, she brings a global perspective to her role. Harbandna is dedicated to prioritizing the well-being and development of the staff, emphasizing Monarch’s culture that values longevity and fosters a supportive work environment.
Tatiana Reginello, the Spa Director at Monarch Casino Resort Spa, hails from Moldova, in Eastern Europe, and moved to the United States in 2011. With a background in managing a Five-Star spa in Boca Raton, Florida, Tatiana is committed to creating a relaxing and memorable guest experience. She is proud to be part of an organization that prioritizes excellence in every aspect.
Paper Hartman joined Monarch Casino Resort Spa as the Director of Sales in April 2024. With Lebanese and German heritage and a background as a classically trained singer, Paper brings a unique and diverse approach to her work. She is passionate about fostering a positive and collaborative atmosphere, showcasing Monarch’s exceptional service and meticulous attention to detail.
Brandon Colligan, Director of Security, has been with Monarch Casino Resort Spa since November 2023. With deep Louisiana roots and an African American heritage, Brandon’s experiences, including playing Division One football at McNeese State University, have shaped his professional approach. He is dedicated to ensuring Monarch is a safe and welcoming environment for all.
Alexander Lopez, affectionately known as “Chef Alex,” has worked at Monarch Casino Resort Spa since October 2021. As Executive Chef, he oversees the operations of Monarch's three award-winning restaurants and the fabulous Buffet. "I like the challenge of overseeing multiple restaurants," says Chef Alex. You’ve got to be quick on your feet." Chef Alex's passion for cooking is deeply rooted in his family's rich Chicano heritage, which inspires him to create sumptuous family recipes that delight guests. He believes that while many people think of Monarch Casino Resort Spa primarily as a gambling destination, they should also recognize it as a place for fantastic dining experiences and exceptional hospitality.
Jesus Delgado, Director of Facilities, joined Monarch Casino Resort Spa in December 2021. Originally from Mexico, Jesus brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for building maintenance and safety. He believes Monarch stands out due to its high-quality amenities and exceptional hospitality.
Zayn Thao, Director of Finance, joined Monarch Casino Resort Spa in March 2024. With Southeast Asian and Hmong descent, Zayn brings dynamic problem-solving skills to his role. He oversees all accounting and finance processes, supports the budget process, and ensures the smooth operation of the resort.
