Guest Donations at Monarch Help Drive $1 Million Raised for Charity

Milestone reached through guest donations at Monarch Casino Resort Spa and sister property Atlantis Casino Resort Spa

What started as spare change has grown into something much bigger. Monarch Casino Resort Spa and its sister property, Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno, have now raised $1 million in total for charity through their guest spare change donation program.

The milestone was reached through donations made at Everi CashClub kiosks, where guests can choose to direct unused ticket voucher balances up to $0.99 to charitable causes.

How it Works

When a guest cashes in a ticket voucher, they have three options

  1. Cash out the full balance of their ticket
  2. Donate their change to a single charity
  3. Split their change among multiple non-profits

Because of the latter two choices, over time, those small, voluntary contributions have added up to make a major impact for nonprofit organizations serving communities in Colorado, Nevada, and beyond.

At Monarch Casino Resort Spa, the program has helped local organizations, including the Food Bank of the Rockies, the American Cancer Society of Colorado, the National Western Stock Show, and nationally, the Navy SEAL Foundation.

“What may feel like spare change in the moment has helped create real support for organizations doing important work in Colorado and beyond, and we’re incredibly proud that Monarch guests have played such a meaningful role in that,” said Erica Ferris, Director of Marketing for Monarch Casino Resort Spa.

In 2020, Monarch’s spare change donation program averaged roughly $37 per day. Over time, that number has steadily increased to $100 per day presently. That’s nearly $37,000 per year, on average, that guests have chosen to turn leftover change into meaningful support for nonprofit organizations.
